Menu Verbs

These verbs choose commands from a pull-down or pop-up menu.

Verbs

chooseMenu

choose from a pull-down menu (in the menubar)

chooseHierMenu

choose from a hierarchical pull-down menu

choosePopup

choose from a pop-up menu

chooseHierPopup

choose from a hierarchical pop-up menu (rare!)

Alternate Verbs

These verbs have separate parameters for x and y. This format may be somewhat easier to type (and to read!) than a list or point, but is less flexible.

choosePopupAt

choose from a pop-up menu, specifying location with 2 parameters (x, y)

chooseHierPopupAt

choose from a hierarchical pop-up, specifying location with 2 parameters (x, y)

Notes

• A pull-down menu will not "flash" or be highlighted when a command is chosen. A pop-up menu may flash briefly (sometimes twice).
• Player's menu query verbs are documented in the section on Query Verbs.
